Credendo Whistleblower Channel
ContextCredendo has updated its internal Whistleblower Policy and the corresponding procedures to align with EU Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law, and with its transposition into national legislation (where applicable).
The purpose of this legislation is twofold:
To encourage and facilitate reports identifying integrity violations, abuse and misconduct, such as corruption, fraud, money laundering, any serious wrongdoings etc
To better protect the person reporting a breach or violation (also known as a ‘whistleblower’) and his/her associates against any possible retaliation that may result as a consequence of the report made.
More detailed information on the Internal Whistleblower Policy can be found in the Credendo Code of conduct.
Who can make a report? The law recognises a person as a whistleblower if he/she reports a breach based on information acquired in a ‘work-related context’. This term is interpreted very widely and includes prospective, current and former employees, interns and trainees, current and former contractors, consultants and suppliers.
However, anyone can report a breach in the areas of financial services, products and markets, the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, irrespective of whether the person reporting the breach obtained the information in a work-related context.
The legal protection of the whistleblower applies to the extent that the person introducing the report acts in good faith, meaning he/she has reasonable grounds to believe that the information reported was correct at the time of introducing the report. What can be reported?Through this page, you can submit information about integrity violations or report actions that are unethical, illegal or in violation of internal policies, but also omissions, breaches for which you have specific reasons to suspect that they will take place or any attempts to conceal breaches.
All reports are treated confidentially and securely. This means that the confidentiality of the identity of the person reporting a breach and any third party mentioned in the report is protected, and that non-authorised staff members do not have access to the reports.
Reports are handled confidentially with indication of the name and contact information of the whistleblower or, if desired by him/her, 100% anonymously.
Follow-up of the reportsThe Credendo Group Compliance Department, with support of the Compliance Officers of the different entities, is designated for following-up on the reports, will remain in contact with the whistleblower and, if necessary, ask for further information from and provide feedback to that person, in accordance with applicable national legislation.
Make a ReportThrough this page you can introduce a new secure report or follow up on an existing report. You can find more details on ‘How to create a report’ in the dedicated tutorial page ‘Guide for reporting’.
Following up on your reports can be relevant for numerous reasons:
1) You wish to see the status of your report and check if action is being taken.
2) You wish to provide additional information to your report or communicate with a member of our Compliance Department.
3) The case handler has requested additional information from you to help him/her resolve the issue or take the appropriate action.
