Develey Group Policy Statement on Respect for Human Rights
As part of the Develey Group, Develey Polska Sp. z.o.o. as a traditional, family-run company has always focused on acting responsibly and sustainably. As company management, we are convinced that legally compliant and ethical conduct while respecting human rights is the basis of responsible corporate governance. In doing so, we are always guided by applicable law, international conventions and our basic ethical values. We are expressly committed to respecting human dignity and rights, as expressed in the following conventions:
The Develey Group has established a risk management system that covers the entire entrepreneurial activities of the group-owned companies. Through the implementation of binding guidelines and processes, the aim is to protect human rights and comply with environmental protection within our own division and also by our business partners.
Internally, we commit ourselves and our employees to comply with all requirements of our Compliance Policy and Code of Values. The regulations primarily include compliance with applicable laws and human rights, environmental protection and our own principles of ethics. We reflect the same content in our Code of Conduct for suppliers and business partners. This forms the basis and prerequisite for any cooperation with third parties. We therefore expect employees and suppliers to ensure that in their daily work they comply with the requirements for upholding human rights. We see this company-wide and cross-departmental implementation as a continuous process that must be constantly driven forward, improved and adapted to new problems.
The Develey Group carries out risk analyses both within its own business area and in the relevant supply chain. In the analysis, human rights risks relating to the individual company are identified and evaluated using officially recognized data sources and individual company information. The respective evaluation determines the subsequent measures to prevent, reduce or eliminate existing risks. When developing and selecting measures, we work closely with affected stakeholders, organizations and experts. Each measure is regularly reviewed for appropriateness and effectiveness and, if necessary, adjusted.
The group-wide risk analysis has revealed increased human rights risks in the areas of raw materials and services. We are responding to these with a comprehensive range of measures in coordination with the companies concerned. Among other things, we rely on certifications, reviews and contractual adjustments. We are also involved in the development of industry solutions at association level. In this way, we strive to continuously reduce risks across our entire sphere of activity.
The companies in the Develey Group have a reporting system to address human rights risks directly to the affected companies. We provide everyone with a digital reporting system via our corporate websites. This enables confidential and, if desired, even anonymous reports. In addition, any company in the Develey Group can be contacted by post or in person after consultation. Reports are always handled confidentially with great care, with the protection of the reporting persons.
Reports are recorded as part of risk management and can thus lead to an adjustment or correction of existing measures.
The Human Rights Commissioner, in cooperation with the compliance team, is responsible for documenting risk management and reporting to the competent authority and company management. The report to the authority is made in accordance with legal requirements. Internal reporting to company management is carried out once a year and on a case-by-case basis. In this way, we enable an active and open exchange and a secure review of all aspects of risk management.
